“BUSA welcomes the progress made in procuring millions of new vaccines doses and looks forward to their arrival in South Africa which will signal a ramp up in public vaccinations.
“Business leaders meet regularly with the President, cabinet members, and senior civil servants to better coordinate and deepen government and business’ cooperation to help deliver on all aspects of the national vaccination programme.
“BUSA acknowledges the many acute challenges facing the nation, such as building an EVDS system capable of registering, sequencing, and managing millions of people’s vaccination visits, developing mechanisms to reimburse private sector providers administering vaccinations, and communicating to and reassuring the country.
“This week’s meeting was productive with broad agreement reached on the key challenges faced and there was an ongoing commitment to further regular engagement at the highest level to mobilise and align business capacity – though Business for South Africa – to help solve practical problems as they emerge.
“BUSA welcomed the opportunity to again engage the President and his Ministers and noted the unprecedented levels of cooperation by all social partners – government, labour, civil society, and business to jointly support the vaccination of the nation.”
