BUSA on WEF Global Risks Report 2026: Growth, Jobs and Stability

Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) welcomes the release of the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Report 2026, published on 14 January 2026, and values its role as an Institutional Partner representing organised South African business.

Through its engagement with the WEF, BUSA ensures that South Africa’s business priorities are reflected in global discussions, while global best practice is translated into practical, locally relevant solutions that support economic growth, employment, energy security, infrastructure development and skills.

These engagements strengthen public–private collaboration, improve investor confidence and contribute to more informed policy dialogue, ultimately supporting job creation and economic stability in South Africa.

The risks identified in the report, including weak growth, unemployment, infrastructure constraints, governance challenges and climate pressures, underscore the need for collective action. BUSA continues to advocate for policy certainty, effective public–private partnerships, skills development, stronger institutions and a practical, just climate transition to build resilience and unlock inclusive growth.
