Johannesburg, April,30,2024 – Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Motsuenyane, an iconic figure whose remarkable journey has left an indelible mark on the country’s business landscape. Dr. Motsuenyane’s life story, epitomised in “A Testament of Hope,” serves as an inspiring narrative of resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to success in the face of adversity.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Motsuenyane achieved supreme heights in the realm of Black business, ascending to the highest echelons despite formidable political and socio-economic challenges. As the National President of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC) for an impressive 24 years, he headed transformative initiatives that catalysed the emergence of numerous NAFCOC-sponsored businesses and companies. Notably, under his visionary leadership, enterprises such as the African Bank and Black African Development and Construction Company were established, leaving an enduring legacy of empowerment and economic advancement.
Beyond his contributions to business, Dr. Motsuenyane’s impact transcended into the political and diplomatic arenas. From serving as a Senator during the pivotal post-apartheid era to his role as Ambassador to the Gulf States, he exemplified statesmanship and diplomacy at its finest. His dedication to human rights was further evidenced through his leadership of the Motsuenyane Commission of Enquiry, which investigated human rights abuses.
